Over time, you end up accumulating a lot of towels. They pile up, fill our wardrobes and compete for space with other textiles. But before arriving at this stage, we would really like to fold them quickly, especially if there are a lot of them. Fortunately, there is an effective technique that will allow you to perform this task simply and quickly.
Save time with this method of folding napkins
If you no longer want your towels to fall apart as soon as you open your closet, we present to you the Konmari style pleat method. In just a few gestures, you can use this technique to save precious minutes when you fold your towels. Here are the simple steps to follow to end the clutter in your closets.
How to perform the Konmari method and fold your towels effectively?
The first thing to do is to avoid mixing sheets and towels. Thus, it is advisable to take the towels out of their cupboard, unfold them and then sort them according to their size.
On a bed, a large table or any other flat surface, lay your napkin down and fold it in half, horizontally. Fold it again in the same direction, so as to obtain a rectangle.
In the other direction, namely the length, fold the napkin in half without reaching the end. Then, fold the part that exceeds then fold the napkin back on itself one last time.
In addition, vertical storage is preferable, if the height of your drawer allows it. This will provide a better layout for your towels while saving space. You can therefore roll up your towels rather than folding them.
To make sure you’ve successfully applied the KonMari storage method, just lay your folded towel upright. Whether, you notice that it stands on its ownthen it will mean that you have successfully applied this method.
If you want to use the same folding technique but decide to roll the napkins instead of folding them, all you have to do is simply fold the napkin in half on the horizontal side and then roll it up on itself. In this way, you can store your towels in your closet by arranging them vertically and in several rows. This will also prevent them from falling continuously.
Towels should also be distributed according to their use. So think about your layout by allocating an area for hand towels, another for those devoted to the face and so on. Not only will this method save you time, but also space in your closet.
For so-called guest towels, just follow the same steps as those mentioned above, except for one detail. Fold the napkin in half horizontally, then in half again in the same direction to obtain a rectangle as explained above. However, you will then have to fold in 3 and the turn will be played!
This method is all the more interesting if you want to store your towels in drawers or wicker baskets, for the sake of visibility.
