You have probably noticed the stickers with numbers on the fruit you’ve bought, but do you know what they mean? Apples, bananas, oranges and tangerines are some of the fruits that have the stickers, and those numbers aren’t put there without a purpose.
Here’s what they mean:
If the code starts with four numbers beginning with 3 or 4, it means that the fruit is grown traditionally with pesticides.
If the digit has five numbers beginning with 8, it is a GMO product.
If there’s a five-digit sticker that begins with 9, you looking at a healthy organic product – this is the type of fruit you should buy.
