As reported by the USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there are about millions of pounds rat meat on the American market. This meat is sold as chicken meat and it can be found in any restaurant and store across the U.S.
It all started when the customs at the Port of San Francisco seized some illegal shipping containers. When the inspectors opened the containers, they were shocked to find out that the containers were full of rat meat, a meat which was to be distributed throughout USA and sold as boneless chicken wings. According to the report, the meat was confiscated and destroyed by the authorities.
However, this doesn’t mean that we are on the safe line. According to the FDA, there may be million pounds of fake rat meat circulating. Therefore, be extra cautious the next time you purchase meat!
