According to ancient Indian science of Ayurveda, they strongly advise that you should take care of Ojas or vital energy to good health and holistic wellbeing. Ojas, the main source of natural immunity are essential to extract these seven tissues and is vital for the life and existence. The seven dhatus or tissues believed to make up the human body are Rasa [juice], Rakta [blood], Mansa [muscles], Medha [body fat], Asthi [bones], Majja [bone marrow] and Shukra [sperm].

Many plants can improve your immune system, herbs like amla, mulethi, Ashwagandha, ginger, basil, Harad, turmeric, brahmi and large cardamom. Same purposes have the unctuous food like honey, butter, cow milk.

Aamla 

The Indian Gooseberry (Aamla) contains a number of vitamins, minerals, calcium, iron, phosphorus, albumin, cellulose, fiber, carbohydrates, sugar and water. It is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C. According to Ayurveda, the fruit of amla helps reduce all three doshas-Vata, Pitta and Kapha (air, fire and phlegm). Aamla has special features of rejuvenation and revitalization to the body. Aamla can be consumed as fresh juice of aamla fruit and add to salads or mixed with other juices to balance the acidity. Aamla is very difficult to find in raw form, in the form of powder. If you can find the Aamla powder, you can mix it with honey and consume it twice per day. Chyawanprash, which contains amla with other herbs, you can consume a longer period as a tonic, which will help reduce mental and physical fatigue.

Turmeric

In India the most used for cooking and medicinal purposes is turmeric. Turmeric can be used to relieve ailments such as colds, dry itchy skin, joint pain and swelling. It strengthens the immune system. It is believed that it has destroyed all three doshas or humors of the main body. The best part is that it can easily be included in your daily diet and can allow your body to fight against diseases.

About 1 – 3 grams powder of raw turmeric is recommended and can be supplemented with warm water or milk. The powder can also be mixed with oil and massaged on the skin. Haridra Khanda is an effective Ayurveda formulation of turmeric.

Ginger

Ginger can help you fight the infections and increases the immune system. The ginger can be used for removing the arthritis, gout, edema and other forms of pain in the joints and muscles. According to Ayurvedic texts, ginger helps reduce Vata and Kapha worsening doshas. Ginger in the form of powder may be combined with the sesame oil and with massage you can relief the pain. Moreover, it can be consumed in any form, fresh, dried, powdered or juiced. Ginger can help in all kinds of respiratory problems, cough, asthma, pneumonia.

Tulsi 

Tulsi or holy basil contains specific anti-asthmatic and anti-infective properties. Ayurveda recommends holy basil to empower respiratory resistance. To find relief, consume fresh tulsi juice made by pounding leaves of the herb, twice a day. Add a few drops of ginger and some honey to this to increase its efficiency to build resistance.

Mulethi

According to ayurvedic texts, mulethi, being heavy, slimy and sweet helps in decreasing the aggravated vata dosha or air body humor. Mulethi is natural revitalizing grass. The liquorices roots of this grass are excellent for making home remedy to release a number of diseases. To strengthen immunity is necessary to take some formations of sweet grass roots. The powder of the root, when it is taken with honey and melted butter, revives your level of immunity. Not only that, mulethi also acts as a general, as well as brain tonic and prevents early aging.

Ashwagandha 

In Ayurvedic texts, the herb Ashwagandha is considered as a natural stimulant and rejuvenator. It also slows the aging process. Ashwagandha is a natural herb that is beneficial in strengthening the immune system and restoring energy levels. Powder prepared by any of Ashwagandha roots can be taken at a dose of 3-6 grams with a cup of hot and sweetened cow’s milk.
